Wallet Setup Guide

Learn how to set up and configure your Web3 wallet for DogWithCap platform.

Supported Wallets

DogWithCap supports all major Web3 wallets through WalletConnect:

Desktop Wallets

  • MetaMask (Recommended)
  • Coinbase Wallet
  • Trust Wallet
  • Rainbow Wallet
  • Any WalletConnect-compatible wallet

Mobile Wallets

Setting Up MetaMask (Recommended)

Install MetaMask Extension

  1. Visit metamask.io (opens in a new tab)
  2. Click "Download"
  3. Select your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave)
  4. Install the extension
  5. Pin it to your toolbar for easy access

Create or Import Wallet

Creating a New Wallet

  1. Click "Create a new wallet"
  2. Create a strong password
  3. Watch the security video
  4. Write down your Secret Recovery Phrase
  5. Confirm your phrase in order
  6. Complete the setup

CRITICAL: Write down your Secret Recovery Phrase on paper and store it safely. Never share it with anyone. Anyone with this phrase can access your funds.

Add WicChain Network

You need to add WicChain network manually to MetaMask.

Automatic Method (Recommended):

  1. Visit staking.dogwithcap.xyz (opens in a new tab)
  2. Connect your wallet
  3. Click "Add WicChain Network" when prompted
  4. Approve the network addition

Manual Method:

  1. Open MetaMask
  2. Click the network dropdown at the top
  3. Click "Add Network" → "Add a network manually"
  4. Enter WicChain network details:
Network Name: WicChain Testnet
RPC URL: https://testnet-rpc.wicchain.com
Chain ID: 6689
Currency Symbol: WIC
Block Explorer: https://testnet.wicscan.com
  1. Click "Save"
  2. Switch to WicChain network

Mobile Wallet Setup

MetaMask Mobile

Download the App

Set Up Wallet

Follow the same steps as desktop:

  1. Create or import wallet
  2. Secure your Secret Recovery Phrase
  3. Set up biometric authentication (optional)

Add WicChain Network

  1. Open MetaMask app
  2. Tap hamburger menu (☰)
  3. Tap "Settings" → "Networks"
  4. Tap "Add Network"
  5. Enter WicChain details (same as desktop)
  6. Tap "Add"

Connect to DogWithCap

  1. Open browser in MetaMask app
  2. Visit staking.dogwithcap.xyz
  3. Tap "Connect Wallet"
  4. Approve connection

Trust Wallet Setup

Install Trust Wallet

Create Wallet

  1. Open Trust Wallet
  2. Tap "Create a new wallet"
  3. Secure your recovery phrase
  4. Set up passcode/biometrics

Add WicChain

  1. Tap Settings → Networks
  2. Tap "+" to add custom network
  3. Enter WicChain details
  4. Save and switch to WicChain

Connect via WalletConnect

  1. Open Trust Wallet browser
  2. Visit DogWithCap platform
  3. Click "Connect Wallet" → "WalletConnect"
  4. Scan QR code with Trust Wallet
  5. Approve connection

Wallet Security

Setup Process

Connect Hardware Wallet

  1. Connect Ledger/Trezor to computer
  2. Unlock device with PIN
  3. Open Ethereum app on device

Link to MetaMask

  1. Open MetaMask
  2. Click account icon → "Connect Hardware Wallet"
  3. Select your device type
  4. Choose accounts to import
  5. Confirm connection

Use with DogWithCap

  • Connect normally on DogWithCap
  • Approve transactions on your device
  • All sensitive operations require device confirmation

Hardware wallets keep your private keys offline, providing maximum security against hacks and malware.

Troubleshooting

Can't Connect Wallet

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Disable conflicting extensions
  4. Try different browser
  5. Check network connection

Wrong Network

  1. Open wallet
  2. Switch to WicChain network
  3. Refresh DogWithCap page
  4. Reconnect wallet

Transaction Stuck

  1. Check network status
  2. Speed up transaction (increase gas)
  3. Wait for network congestion to clear
  4. Cancel and retry if needed

Account Not Showing

  1. Verify you're on correct network
  2. Check if account is selected
  3. Try importing account again
  4. Contact support if persists

Advanced Features

Multiple Accounts

Manage multiple accounts in one wallet:

  1. Click account icon
  2. "Create Account" or "Import Account"
  3. Name your accounts for organization
  4. Switch between accounts easily

Custom Tokens

Add custom tokens to wallet:

  1. Open wallet
  2. "Import Tokens" → "Custom Token"
  3. Enter WICC token address:
