Complete walkthrough for new users to get started on DogWithCap platform.

Step 1: Choose Your Wallet

Recommended Wallets

MetaMask - Best for Beginners

Pros:

  • Most popular and user-friendly
  • Available on desktop and mobile
  • Extensive documentation
  • Wide platform support

Installation:

  1. Visit https://metamask.io (opens in a new tab)
  2. Click "Download"
  3. Choose your platform:
  • Browser: Chrome/Firefox/Brave extension
  • Mobile: iOS/Android app
  1. Install and follow setup wizard
  2. CRITICAL: Write down seed phrase on paper
  3. Store seed phrase securely (never digital!)

Security Tips:

  • Never share seed phrase with anyone
  • Use strong password
  • Enable biometric lock on mobile
  • Verify website URL always

Step 2: Add WicChain Network

DogWithCap runs on WicChain Testnet. You need to add this network to your wallet.

Network Details

Chain ID:          6689
Currency Symbol:   WIC
Block Explorer:    https://testnet.wicscan.com

Add Network to MetaMask

Open MetaMask

Click the extension icon or open mobile app

Access Networks

Click network dropdown at top → "Add Network"

Manual Entry

Click "Add Network Manually" at bottom

Enter Details

Network Name:    WicChain Testnet
RPC URL:        https://testnet-rpc.wicchain.com
Chain ID:       6689
Symbol:         WIC
Explorer:       https://testnet.wicscan.com

Save

Click "Save" → Network added successfully

Switch Network

Select "WicChain Testnet" from network dropdown

✅ Success: You should see "WicChain Testnet" in network dropdown

Step 3: Get WICC Tokens

You need WICC tokens to stake on the platform.

Option 1: Buy from Exchange (Recommended)

Exchanges Supporting WICC:

  • Exchange A (example)
  • Exchange B (example)
  • Decentralized exchanges

Steps:

  1. Create exchange account
  2. Complete KYC if required
  3. Deposit funds (fiat or crypto)
  4. Buy WICC tokens
  5. Withdraw to your wallet address

Withdrawal Tips:

  • Always test with small amount first
  • Double-check wallet address
  • Verify network is WicChain
  • Note gas fees for withdrawal

Option 2: Testnet Faucet (For Testing)

If you're on testnet for testing:

  1. Visit faucet: https://faucet.wicchain.com (opens in a new tab)
  2. Enter your wallet address
  3. Complete captcha
  4. Receive test WICC tokens
  5. Wait 1-2 minutes for confirmation

Note: Testnet tokens have no real value. Only for testing!

Option 3: Swap from Other Tokens

If you have other tokens on WicChain:

  1. Visit WicSwap (DEX)
  2. Connect your wallet
  3. Select tokens to swap
  4. Swap for WICC
  5. Confirm transaction

Step 4: Get Native WIC (For Gas)

You need native WIC tokens to pay transaction fees (gas).

How Much Do You Need?

Minimum:        0.1 WIC
Recommended:    1-2 WIC
For 100 Txs:    ~5 WIC

Typical Gas Costs:
- Stake:        ~0.01 WIC
- Claim:        ~0.01 WIC
- Approve:      ~0.01 WIC

Getting WIC

Method 1: Faucet (Testnet)

Method 2: Exchange

  • Buy WIC on exchange
  • Withdraw to wallet
  • Use for gas fees

Method 3: Swap

  • Swap some WICC for WIC
  • Keep small amount for gas
  • Top up as needed

Step 5: Connect to Platform

Visit Platform

Go to: https://staking.dogwithcap.xyz (opens in a new tab)

Verify URL

CRITICAL: Check URL carefully

  • Correct: staking.dogwithcap.xyz
  • Watch for phishing sites!

Click "Connect Wallet"

Look for connect button in top right

Select Your Wallet

  • MetaMask: Click "MetaMask"
  • WalletConnect: Scan QR code
  • Other: Select appropriate option

Approve Connection

In your wallet:

  • Review permissions
  • Click "Connect" or "Approve"
  • Sign connection message

Verify Connection

You should see:

  • ✅ Wallet address displayed
  • ✅ Network shows WicChain
  • ✅ WICC balance visible
  • ✅ Dashboard accessible

✅ Connected! You should see your wallet address in top right corner

Step 6: Approve WICC Token

Before staking, you need to approve the platform to use your WICC tokens.

Understanding Approval

What it does:

  • Gives platform permission to move your WICC
  • One-time setup per token
  • Standard ERC20 requirement
  • Costs small gas fee

Security:

  • Only approves specific contract
  • You stay in control
  • Can revoke anytime
  • Industry standard practice

Approval Process

Go to Farm Page

Click "Farm" in navigation

Enter Amount

Type amount you want to stake (or more)

Click "Approve"

First-time users see "Approve WICC" button

Confirm in Wallet

Transaction details:

  • Function: Approve
  • Spender: Staking Contract
  • Amount: Your specified amount
  • Gas: ~0.01 WIC

Wait for Confirmation

  • Usually 5-10 seconds
  • Green checkmark on success
  • "Farm Now" button appears

Approval Amounts:

  • Approve exact amount: Most secure, need approval each time
  • Approve large amount: Convenient, approve once for many stakes
  • Infinite approval: Maximum convenience, least secure

Recommendation: Approve large but finite amount (e.g., 1M WICC)

Step 7: Make Your First Stake

Now you're ready to stake!

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Stake:   100 WICC
Gas Required:    ~0.01 WIC
Approval:        Must be done first
Cooldown:        None for first stake

Staking Process

Go to Farm Page

Navigate to Farm section

Enter Amount

Example: 1,000 WICC
Minimum: 100 WICC
Your Balance: Check available

Add Referral (Optional)

If you have a referral code:

  • Expand "Advanced Options"
  • Enter referral address
  • Referrer earns 5% commission
  • You help them reach milestones

Review Details

Check:

  • ✅ Amount correct
  • ✅ Gas fee acceptable
  • ✅ Referral code valid (if used)
  • ✅ Network is WicChain

Click "Farm Now"

Submit your stake transaction

Confirm in Wallet

Review transaction:

  • Function: stake
  • Amount: Your WICC amount
  • To: Staking contract
  • Gas: ~0.01 WIC

Click "Confirm"

Wait for Confirmation

  • Transaction submits
  • Wait 5-15 seconds
  • Success message appears
  • Position created!

🎉 Congratulations! You've made your first stake!

You're now earning:

  • 0.2% daily interest (73% APR)
  • Starting from this moment
  • Claimable anytime (with 60s cooldown)

Step 8: Verify Your Position

Let's confirm everything is working:

Check Dashboard

Go to Dashboard page to see:

Your Positions:
- Position #1: 1,000 WICC
- Status: Active
- Created: Just now
- Pending Interest: ~0 WICC (just started)

Estimated Daily: 2 WICC (0.2% of 1,000)

Check Transaction

Click transaction hash or:

  1. Go to https://testnet.wicscan.com (opens in a new tab)
  2. Search your wallet address
  3. See "stake" transaction
  4. Status: Success ✅

Track Earnings

After 24 hours:

  • Pending interest: ~2 WICC
  • Claimable: Yes (after 1 day)
  • Total staked: 1,000 WICC
  • Position active: Yes

Common First-Time Issues

Issue 1: Wallet Won't Connect

Symptoms:

  • Connection popup doesn't appear
  • "Connect" button does nothing
  • Error messages

Solutions:

1. Refresh the page
2. Check wallet is unlocked
3. Try different browser
4. Clear browser cache
5. Try WalletConnect instead
6. Restart wallet extension
7. Check network is WicChain

Issue 2: Insufficient Gas

Error: "Insufficient funds for gas"

Solution:

1. Check WIC balance (not WICC)
2. Need ~0.1 WIC minimum
3. Get WIC from faucet
4. Or swap small WICC to WIC

Issue 3: Approval Failed

Symptoms:

  • Approval transaction fails
  • Cannot proceed to stake

Solutions:

1. Check gas balance sufficient
2. Verify network is WicChain
3. Try lower approval amount
4. Check WICC balance > amount
5. Wait and try again

Issue 4: Transaction Pending Forever

Symptoms:

  • Transaction shows "pending"
  • Never confirms
  • Stuck in mempool

Solutions:

1. Wait 5-10 minutes first
2. Check block explorer
3. If stuck >30min:
   - Speed up (higher gas)
   - Or cancel transaction
4. Try again with higher gas

Issue 5: Wrong Network

Symptoms:

  • Can't see tokens
  • Transaction fails
  • Contract not found

Solution:

1. Check network dropdown
2. Should show "WicChain Testnet"
3. Switch to correct network
4. Refresh page
5. Try again

  • Strong wallet password set
  • Biometric lock enabled (mobile)

  • Know how to disconnect wallet

Transaction Security
